REPORTS 2008
5/6 First trip of the year. Beautiful windless day. 65 degrees. Fished with Wally on the SW corner. Over 200 cod to
30". 10-1 shorts. Small single hook jigs were best. Caught our limit in 4 hours. Tons of sand eels & whales. Some
dogs. Water 70-100 ft., W temp. 49 deg
5/14 Boat in for an unexpected overhaul, two weeks without a boat AUGH!!!. Top to bottom on the motor and
electrical system. Thanks Slip's
6/6 Got out with good friends Bob and Mike on Mike's new 28' Regulator Sweet Boat!. Lots of nice bass deep in CC
Bay. Biggest was 40" 25 lbs. Poppers and Storm Shads were the best.
6/12 Fished Race Point Today with the a great group of guys from BRADCO Inc. Lots of nice bass to 38". Matt
had the hot hand with the biggest bass. Jigs and storm shads on lite tackle were the trick.
6/16 Had the Grigalunas Family aboard for Dad's 60 Birthday. A combined Bass and Tuna trip was the plan.
Beautifull Day on the water. We caught some nice bass to 36" at the Race and then went on a tuna hunt. The
tuna were there and we managed to hook up to a screamer. The fight didn't last as the 50lb braid snapped after
a short time. Saw a spectacular whale show on the way back in.
6/19 Another Combined Tuna Bass trip Today. Plenty of big bass on the back side as well as some tuna popping
around just a few mile offshore. Landed 20 bass about a dozen blues but no tuna today. Trolled bars and a bird,
green machine combo (pink with orange stinger, and green, black).

6/27 On-board today I had the Szybeck brothers (Joe and John), Joe's wife Lisa and son Jordan. They were up for
a full day bass trip (and maybe some tuna if the opportunity presented itself). We launched at 5:00 AM. Great
forecast, calm and warm. The only problem was pea soup fog! (100yd visibility in most of the bay) After a slow and
careful ride we found a massive school of blues just off Race Pt. Everybody hooked up to large and feisty 10lb
bluefish. A little later, Jordan caught his first striper ever! We fished the race for a while and decided to move to find
some bigger bass. The next stop was just as foggy, but the BIG bass were crushing the sand eels. We threw
Tuff-Core sand eel imitation jigs and in short order Joe was hooked to a monster. He fought the fish like a pro and
we soon boated a fat, 44" 30+lb. striper, the biggest of his life. We released the fish to let it get bigger!! We ended
the day with about 15 bass and 20 bluefish. Everybody had smiles on their faces!

7/1 Had Frank D and his son Jason on-board today for a full day bass/tuna hunt. We found some fish at the Race
early and Jason landed the first striper ever. After a few more small stripers and blues Frank hooked a nice 34"
keeper. With a couple bass and bluefish in the boat we decided to go on a Tuna hunt. We found a couple pods off
Race Point but never really got a good cast into them. We move around a little, jigging butterflies and rubber. Jason
hooked a nice fat 38" bass and after a quick release Frank hooks into a tuna, on a bass rod! After an valiant 1 1/2
hr fight, with the fish just feet form the boat, the leader snapped. It had worn through from being in the corner of the
fished mouth. I had the fish at about 50" and 80-90 lbs. We ended the day with a nice 40" striper. All in all a great
day OTW.

7/2 Had three generations of the Pedrosa family aboard today. Darren, his father in law James (from Texas) and
son Landry. The plan was to catch some bass at the Race and then go on a tuna hunt. The bass and bluefish
were very cooperative today and all hands caught nice sized fish casting rubber shads. Seven Y.O. Landry fought
the bass and toothy bluefish like a pro. After a few hours at the Race we went on a tuna hunt. The tuna were
around but not feeding agresively. We got some chances at fish on the surface but they were not in the mood to
bite. We ended the day with a few more nice bass and bluefish. Another great day OTW

9/10 Had Marty and son Patrick on board today for an all day tuna hunt. Pat was on leave from the Marines and I
really wanted him to hook a tuna. We floated some baits out and waited....jigged up some big blues.....and waited.....
jigged up some more big blues, some really big bass and waited.......made a move and waited....made another move
and waited......and waited......... At about noon, acting on some good intel, we made a move to the south, set out the
baits and were immediately rewarded with the singing drag of our Shimano TLD. Marty wrestled the first fish for
about 20 minutes but it was not co-operating. He gave up the rod to Pat who, being fresh from basic training, put a
whipping on the fish and landed it in 2-3 minutes. The Tuna was a real football, 55" and 130Lbs. We got the baits
back in the water and hooked up again. The second fish was a bit bigger and was released boatside in about 15
minutes. A great day was had by all with many blues and bass and two nice tuna.

8/9 Got out today with Bud and Bob. Fishing was a little slow in the bay and it was a
bit too sloppy to get out past Gurnet. We did manage to catch a few nice bass on live
pogies Largest was the 20lb+ 38" fish I am holding (to the left).
